Workshop on: Social Protection Policy and Financing.

Vang Vieng town, Vientiane province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, from 24 to 26 March 2025, under the coordination and supports by Oxfam in Cambodia and Laos, Mr. MAR Sophal, Program Manager of the NGO Forum on Cambodia (NGOF), secretariat of the CSOs’ Budget Working Group (BWG) and represents Social Protection for All (SP4ALL), coordinated the participation of members of the National Assembly from the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and the FUNCINPEC Party to share progress on the topic of “the mandate of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia in social protection legislation drafting, budget review, and accountability” in a regional workshop on: Social Protection Policy and Financing.

Mr. Sophal shared on CSOs participation in legal framework development and budget formulation for social protection in Cambodia. He stressed that CSO is a key actor in bringing grassroot people voices to be included in this important process in order to ensure no one left behind.

This event was attended by approximately 100 participants, including leaders and officials of the National Assembly, ministers, leaders, and officials from line ministries, representatives of development partners such as UNRC, UNDP, UNICEF, ILO, WFP, governors from municipal and provincial administrations, development partners, and representatives of non-governmental organizations from Cambodia, Lao and Vietnam.
