Public forum on ‘Macroeconomic Management and Budget Law 2025´

In the morning of 10 February 2025, Mr. MAR Sophal, Acting Executive Director of the NGO Forum on Cambodia (NGOF), secretariat and represents the CSOs’ Budget Working Group (BWG), participated in a public forum on ‘Macroeconomic Management and Budget Law 2025´. He brought 8 key inputs/requests from members/citizen to the Royal Government of Cambodia and got responses for clarification and consideration to include in the plan and future implement. Those inputs are reducing tax on gasolines, increasing taxes on tobacco, alcohol and high sugary beverages, managing expenditure effectively, progressive tax on unused land, increasing more budget allocations to key sectors including education, health, social protections, agriculture, food secured and safety, environment, natural resources management, climate change, disasters such as drought or flooded and sub national administrative budget.
